Yusif Eyvazov recently starred as Mario Cavaradossi in a highly acclaimed revival of Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The production, presented in the original stage designs by Adolf Hohenstein from the opera’s 1900 world premiere, was directed by Alessandro Talevi, who meticulously adhered to Puccini’s original stage directions. The performances were conducted by the renowned maestro Daniel Oren.

Performing alongside soprano Anna Netrebko in the title role, Mr. Eyvazov delivered a compelling interpretation of the passionate painter. …” Yusif Eyvazov, who is convincing in the role of Mario Cavaradossi…he mixes a lot of emotion into his farewell aria “E lucevan le stelle”. In the subsequent duet, he turns to his beloved with deep gratitude. His generally powerful tenor gains contours.” (Opera Online, March 10, 2025)

…”From Recondita armonia / di bellezze diverse!, delivered with fluidity and remarkable breadth, Yusif Eyvazov asserts himself, fully committed to his performance; warm applause expresses the audience’s appreciation. His Vittoria! Vittoria!, accelerating like a cry of triumph and vengeance, bursts forth in defiance of the vile Scarpia—what flexibility and ease! E lucevan le stelle… / ed olezzava la terra, sung with velvety softness, leads seamlessly into L’ora è fuggita, ending with la vita! in a breath that seems to stretch on endlessly, earning a thunderous bravo”…
