Yusif performs regularly on the stages of all of the world’s most prestigious opera houses including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Vienna State Opera, Teatro Real in Madrid, Berlin State Opera, Royal Opera House in London, Paris National Opera, Liceu Opera Barcelona and others. The unique sound of his voice, described as “metallic, stentorian and markedly Italianate” (L.A. Times), and an outstanding stage presence have allowed him to combine an active opera career with frequent concert performances. Yusif has appeared on numerous recordings for Deutsche Grammophon including a complete recording of Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” live from the Salzburg Festival and with soprano Anna Netrebko on the cross-over album Romanza.
Highlights of the 2025/2026 season include La forza del destino at the Zurich Opernhaus, concert in Istanbul,
Turandot at London Royal Opera House, Tosca at the Opera National de Paris and at the Royal Opera in
Muscat, as well as the role of Radames in Aida at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Il Trovatore at
the Teatro Real in Madrid and at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste.
Yusif Eyvazov opened his 2024-25 season performing Rodolfo (La Boheme)at Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Calaf (Turandot) in Budapest and Seoul. At the beginning of the year 2025 he performed Otello in Palermo at the Teatro Massimo. He then sang the role of Mario Cavardossi in Tosca at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and concerts in Sofia, Budapest, Paris, Moscow and Vienna. Yusif Eyvazov sang Alfredo in La Traviata at the Royal Opera House Muscat and Manrico (Il Trovatore) at the Staatsoper Berlin. He appeared in Pique Dame at the Wiener Staatsoper, that was highly praised by critics, and Aida at the Arena di Verona Opera Festival. Among others he performed also in Orange, in concert in Berlin, in Thurn and Taxis Schlossfestspiel, in Ljubljana Festival and in Torre del Lago in Puccini Opera Festival.
Yusif Eyvazov began his 2023/24 opera season starring as Radamès in Barry Kosky’s new production of Aida at Berlin’s Staatsoper Unter den Linden. He then returned to the Vienna State Opera as Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut) and performed the role again at the Teatro Colón in the spring of 2024. He came back to one of his most celebrated roles – Calaf (Turandot) – in three different productions: at the Teatro San Carlo, in Wiesbaden, and in a new production at the Teatro alla Scala. Other opera engagements this season included Maurice (Adriana Lecouvreur) at Paris Opera, Turiddu (Cavalleria Rusticana) at the Opera Monte Carlo, Cavaradossi (Tosca) at the Royal Opera House and Arena di Verona, as well as a concert performance of Il Trovatore in Budapest.

In the 2015/16 season, Yusif Eyvazov made a series of important debuts at the world-renowned opera houses. He stared as Canio in Los Angeles Opera’s production of I Pagliacci conducted by Plácido Domingo, made his first appearances at the Metropolitan Opera and the Wiener Staatsoper singing Calaf in Turandot, and debuts at both the Paris Opera and at the Staatsoper Berlin as Manrico in Il Trovatore. His Salzburg Festival debut took place in the summer of 2016, as Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut. On the concert stage, he sang in Parma under the baton of Marco Boemi with a programme featuring works by Verdi and Puccini, in concert with Riccardo Muti in December, and undertook a major concert tour throughout Asia alongside Anna Netrebko, in the spring of 2016.
In the 2014/15 season, Yusif Eyvazov performed Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana at the Teatro Filarmonico for the Verona Opera Festival and Radames in Aida with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Mr Eyvazov sang Verdi’s Requiem at the Auditorium di Milano with the LaVerdi Symphony Orchestra and also a recital at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona alongside Anna Netrebko, conducted by Massimo Zanetti.
Mr Eyvazov´s repertoire includes the roles of Alfredo in “La Traviata”, Cavaradossi in “Tosca”, Renato des Grieux in “Manon Lescaut”, Kalaf in “Turandot”, Andrea Chenier in “Andrea Chenier”, Rodolfo in “La Boheme”, Don Carlos in “Don Carlos” and many others.
He lives in Vienna with his wife Anna Netrebko and her son Tiago.
On March 9, 2017, by the decree of the President of Azerbaijan I. Aliyev Yusif Eyvazov was awarded the title of “People´s Artist of Azerbaijan”.
